Mars 4:45 The Science Module: Launch!

When a Science Module is ready for launch, this is the card that will send the module on its way. When a Mission Director completes a Science Module with this card, they will take the completed unit off the factory floor. During a round, players will need to complete 2 different science modules.

“The red of the Red Planet can now be seen with the naked eye. Time to prepare the observatory for orbital deployment.”

We need your help! This will be our first game going to Kickstarter and we need to spread the word. We are looking at a Sept 1st to launch so over the next two months I hope you get to know the theme, art and mechanics of the game.  Please give the rules a read and watch our tutorial videos. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. We want this game to succeed and we want you to get to know and enjoy this game as much as we do.

Mars 4:45 The Science Module: Surface Rover

Since the colonists will be so busy working in and around the rest of the colony, the Science Module has been built with a Surface Rover on board. The Surface Rover will be programmed to explore regions of interest. The colonists will use the Rover to be better informed about where to find resources, the best travel routes and perform initial scientific tests on geological points of interest. The colonists will service and maintain the rover in between exploration missions to keep the rover at peak operational efficiency.

“The rover has been recovered. Upload of new exploration route currently at 41%. Expected deployment #4 in 5 martian hours.”

Mars 4:45 The Science Module: Space Observatory

Just like the orbital telescopes around our home planet, your colony will take a Space Observatory as part of the Science Module. Not only will the observatory take high resolution images of the Red Planet’s surface, but the parallax increase using a telescope around mars will increase the colonists ability to accurately measure distances to far away objects. It will also act as a deep space warning system for objects that could pose a threat to Mars or Earth.

“Science Module is ready for entry, orbital observatory has been deployed within .5% of target orbital altitude, are we go/no go for entry?”

Mars 4:45 Science Module – Science Lab

The Science Module is critically important to the colony mission to Mars. (I say that like nothing else is important to the mission…..haha) The first piece of the Science Module is the Science Lab. This will house most of the experiments colonists will run while on the Red Planet. These early experiments will take the colony beyond its humble beginnings and set up the future of more Mars colonies. The early science discoveries of the colony are so important, a complete colony 2 Science Modules.

“We had our Generation 1.0 sprouts break through the soil today! Set-up for particle shield tests finished. Next phase is to hook up to the resource module & power the first micro shield tests.”
